First off on the portraits the hair does not appear to be part of the head. Try shading at the roots and along the hair to try and make them connect.
I would like to ask how you created the portraits. As in what you used to make them and what you used for reference.
As far as the manga page... it is just way too cluttered. What am I supposed to be looking at? The character? The trees? If you want the eye to go to the character get closer. If its the trees you need to fix the perspective. This is all part of something called composition. It is something I am trying to learn as well. Its basically learning what to include and what to not include. Such as details etc.
What program did you use to create the manga page? I am asking because it appears that the trees were drawn by hand, while the leaves were added using something like a texture brush.

To draw a portraits i used a Paint tool sai. Tools : Normal Brushes for skin and a pen for hairs. it is all i needed. To make a manga page i used a Manga studio ex4. And yes... i used a texture brushes. There are much of bruses to this program and if you use it you can get this effect, but i dont use them... i using my own brushes ( for trying my imagination and a creativity. xD ).To do leafs i was just make a few parts of a leafs and i connected them into a one brush. To do other things there i used other brushes (my own too ) Now i have a new way to do a maga pages. Manga studio is not confortable to do sketches so i using a paint tool sai to make a sketch and then i copy the sketch to Manga studio where i ink the image. There is wrong composition on the manga page just because there aren't correctly drawed a back ground and more specifically a ground ... there is not to much effects what should be. If answer not satisfied you then i will write more

hi personally i feel like you do the faces great, but that the hair is lacking a bit, its the most obvious on the first drawing, you make individual lines, making it look like what the artist on youtube that i follow call spagetti hair, try using the smugetool or such a tool to fix that, its better on the second drawing, probably because of less contrast in the hair itself, but the problem remains, and in the 3th drawing you did it better, but the hair there seems to have no shape, or rather be a solid shape, not a combined shape of hunderts small lines always draw the lines in the shape of the object. (for digital works i suggest watching sycra and you will see how a true master of digital painting does it, he is really extremely good) but i really love the face of the 2nd drawing and on the last one im going to comment on the trees, because they really take the entire drawing down, even if you get composure right, or if composure should be as it is. the trees can get a bit liny, but this is overdoing it, try to make it go more flowing, even in manga. just 2 or 3 colors in rather big areas can do it, but this looks a bit strange to me (for landscapes i suggest watching thylersartshack on youtube, he is really good in that and can give great hints, and if you want the manga style, trees will usually be very very simple, try looking at naruto manga, tehre are loads of trees in there so you can see how a very succesfull mangaka does it
