Sometime when i want to learn some new tricks for my own inkning. I redo an existing page that i like or a page in a style i'm not used to. So it's one i done this week. A complete reinking an reballoonning .. (not shure those words exist.) of a Battle angel alita last order page. I noticed that the default panel size was an exact fit so maybe this guy use manga studio too . I tried to make it as fast as possible it took about 4 hours. I messed up the air but anyway it's just a practice. Mine on the left original on the right. Attachments:

So i learned that i can use even smaler inking pen than i usualy use. Some of my line are wide compared to the original even if i used a smaler pen than usual.
The half face shading i never shaded something this way before. And detail like including the lip curve in the shadow.
I noticed that there are alot of line it the original who are messy and not that much precise .. so maybe i lose alot of time cleaning line too much on my last works.
By the way i done it with vector line there was no tutorial that show someone using a manga studio vector layer. Even if it come with some cool features like smothing tool or the one i like most is the "clear line to the intersection earaser". It's super fast to fix line that exceeds or cross an other line. Other thing i like is the posibility to easily change the line tickness.

Something I am noticing with all the streams I watch of people who ink is that they don't make the inks perfect. Especially in digital art. Sometimes the lines will appear a little choppy etc. But the image ends up looking really good. Im not saying that the inking is awful, its just not perfect. I would even dare to say that this imperfection adds more to the art than perfect inking would.
When I finally get around to having time to try inking / digital linework again I will have to remember this.

Inking of one of my drawing. No hatching, I chosed to do cell shading only. I had some trouble with the gun trigger I think i'll need to make a little change in the desing(for next drawings). So, as soon as i done the colorization i'll do the character for the other post .. And it's a redrawing .. I'll post the older for fun. Attachments:

I must say, there is definitely some improvement in the new version than the old! I like the use of foreshortening in the new one also ^^
