Other than Mark Crilley's stuff, (I'm already following Brody's Ghost) what are some good manga and graphic novels. I tend to like stuff a bit more on the realistic and serious end of adventure/drama. My favorite animes are Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Moribito, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I haven't followed any manga for over ten years. But I'm looking into getting back into it. Thanks for any help.

a personal favorite and inspiration of mine is afro samurai, but its violent and certainly not for everyone. I have been reading some DC comics , batman and superman stuff mostly. though its hard to get into that kind of comic if you arent already a fan like i am.

You might look for Lea Hernandez's Cathedral Child and Clockwork Angels. About fifteen years old, but you should be able to find copies online if your bookstore can't order it.

My favourite of all time was Death Note; it's very serious and has a really great plot, I reckon.

Are there any graphic novels that aren't just exaggerated super hero stuff?

I don't think Death Note has exaggerated superhero stuff - unless writing someone's name in a notebook causing them to die goes under that category.

and it sure is one of the best manga's/ anime's of all times

I think bakuman is good but my absolute favorite is death note. It's my favorite. A great anime is angel beats! But it's a complete tear jerker :.) I love that to death. D.gray-man and soul eater are some other great ones I like.
