I always hunch over when I write. Anyone know some sort of wood thing you can buy like mark has that is tilted so I don't have to lean so much when writing? Would really appreciate it. I can't get a whole desk want just a sort of paper tilt stand for drawing not painting.

I actually own one, but I never use it. I find it doesnt help much and its a pain in the butthole if you want to use the same desk as a lamp, computer, supplies, etc. If youre really still interested, you can search drafting table or drawing table, theyre not too expensive

You can purchase an easal, generally you can get some cheap. They can be positioned to be used in a sitting or standing position. You can also just get a drawing board, they are just giant clip boards. You sit with them on you lap and lean them against something. Or you can just get a big piece of fiber board.
I have a drawing table and use it often, I also have an easel and drawing board. I do all my painting on easals or the drawing table at angles.
Some people prefer to sit at a flat table, its not techinically wrong. However drawing at such an angle puts your eyes at a position that many people tend to stretch their drawings due to the perspective.

Well I'm guessing your talking about my drawing table. I want to say like 200? The easel I got was part of an art pack for like 50 bucks but it was really cheap.

Do you happen to remember where you bought it and can you link it?
Another question to anyone. Is there any drawing tablet that all you need is the tablet itself. Ex: You can draw on tablet and see what your drawing on the screen, zoom, scroll, etc. all on the tablet itself.

Yeah, there is. It's called the Wacom Cintiq, but they're really expensive. That's the only one I know of. It comes in different varieties, but the cheapest is the Wacom Cintiq 12WX. You can find videos of it on YouTube.

OTOH, regular tablet computers are quickly reaching the point where you could use one and a stylus for most of your art needs. Pressure sensitivity is even coming to some models. And then you don't have an expensive accessory for your desktop, you have an expensive tablet that can be a go-anywhere easel. ---Dave

www.jerrysartarama.com/discount-art-supplies/studio-furniture/tables-and-sets/bieffe-artist-drafting-tables.htmAll I can say is try something similar out before you buy it. I like mine, but i generally use mine as a flat table, that is higher, and I stand and paint at it for washes and stuff like that. Then put it at an angle and do details. Sometimes I dont even put it at an angle to finish it if the piece is small enough. You can spend all the money in the world on art supplies and that wont make you better. And the worst thing is buying something and finding out it wont help you or that you dont like it. The cintiq still requires a computer to plug into. As of right now I think the Ipad is the most popular tablet for art stuff. There is a cheaper cintiq like product in the works, dont know when it will be available though. blog.drawn.ca/post/38741581411/the-yiynova-msp19u-cintiq-alternative-swings-for-theIf you do alot of drawing traditionally and want a table I dont see why you would want a tablet like object for drawing, but thats just me.
