I wasn't getting anything in the search, and maybe my search abilities suck as well...
Quick question then I'm back to reading more then posting.
What pencils do you guys find best for achieving a good skin texture?
I have been watching Mr. Crilley's videos and it seems like he mostly uses an HB and then something like an 8b or so.
I've been searching around the Internet and see most folks repeating the same thing, something from B to 2b.
I've mostly been using my HB mechanical pencils and a 6b or 8b, a stump, kneed eraser and whatever other eraser next to me...
Seems to be. Working OK but I'm at the beginning of my learning.
I have a deviantART account but don't know if I am allowed to link to that. Got some Mark Crilley inspired eyes on there ;D
Thanks for any help

I'm no expert with skin texture, but I mainly use a 3H when doing skin. It gives a lighter effect, and then I use an HB and sometimes a 3B to do the shadows. Firstly, I put down a layer of the 3H by doing small round circles as demonstrated by Mark in one of his shading videos. Then I use a little tissue paper to smudge it around and give it this pretty smooth effect. That's just my style anyway. Haha, you should link your deviantART, in case you want critiques that is I for one wouldn't mind having a look! ^_^ And welcome to the forum It's been getting pretty quiet on here. Shadow Major
