Since everyone's doing it, Im now making my own. Mine... My precious.....sss.s..
Okay. I'll add my pictures to this thread, with a comment or two from myself.
Almost all pictures are done with openCanvas 4.5+. I have to link to my devart site because the resolution is too big to be viewed if i put the pictures in the thread. Bare with me please =)
Comments appreciated, constructive critisizm appraised.

There's a piece missing on his shoulder, coz i cut the size down.  I could fix it, but meh. I'm very pleased with the expression and shading on this one, and since that was kinda what i was trying to acvhieve here, I give myself a rating of 4/6. The background is just something random i created after the pic was done. |

Izumi Konata (Kona-Chan) olamartinsen.deviantart.com/art/Izumi-Konata-93672647On this one I tried making my lines smoother. It's alot better than Ed, but not entirely happy with it. Looking back at it, I say it looks sloppy. The facial expression is spot on, though *proud* Coloring on this one.. well, i'm new at this so its all done quick - as you can see with some of the colors blending in across lineart and onto other colors etc. The striped on her shoulder, for example, should be white- but I forgot to color them and when i did the background the pink came through the invisible layer. 4/6 |

This is still an incomplete drawing, but i dont think i'll ever finish it. Im unable to do the coloring properly, and every time i attempt it i kinda disgard my changes and dont save. I love the sketch i did of her, though, you can see that if you click my gallery on DevArt. Maybe i should start from the sketch again and do a black and white of her, with crosshatching and stuff instead of colors. (oooo, inspiration from my own drawings!) |

I love the pose and the expression on it  Needs a solid background so it actually shows that she is standing behind a desk in a classroom (the green background is supposed to be the "board" teachers write on (wth is that called? lol)) One of my first digital drawings, this one. openCanvas is a 'light version' of Photoshop. I think Photoshop is like 1000$ now, or something like that, whereas openCanvas is like 100$. Has lots of the same functions, check it out |

Not bad, You could work on hands on a few of the pics. I love the faces. I need to try some chibi stuff. The "Shades of Grey" drawing is cool too.
I am going to have to check out open canvas. I am working on coloring and not having to buy markers all the time would rule! Do you use a tablet?

Yes, i have the same tablet as Mangagal. Wacom Bamboo, its small and uncomfortable - but it's nice at the same time I want a bigger one. |

On Yu-Chan, her left cheek is pointy xP But its still incomplete so, hurry up and finish it lol
On the teacher of Lucky Star and Izumi Konata, theres a bump on their right cheek. It makes them look weird lol

Thanks for the tips, guys! I'll redraw Lucy later, in more detail. That pic up there was just a sketch to get my initial idea down on "paper". I have to admit I didn't bother much with the ear And yeah, on Yu-chan, I see what you mean, funny - I never noticed it untill you mentioned it =) I consider myself finished with the coloured background and stuff, but I'll definately bring the tip with me to the next drawing! |

Konata (main character), the two sisters Tsukasa and Kagami and lastly the wealthy Miyuki. The anime is about their everyday life in school and stuff. Konata is a slacker who loves to sit infront of her computer and play online games, and when school exams etc gets close, she cheats by writing off Kagami's answers/homework. Hehe, I've seen lots of different versions of it. Someone actually made one where they took a frame-by-frame recording of robots toys moving and dancing as in the opening video |
