I just recently purchased all four volumes of Miki Falls and found myself unable to put the story down. I read it from beginning to end and have to say that you really did an amazing job through the entire story. What really blew me away was the opening scene in "Summer" when you show the reader how the little gestures we make toward one another are so important, and we forget that so easily. I think we all catch ourselves at one point in this situation and after seeing it portrayed in this manor, I want to be a better man for my fiance. I was very lucky to stumble upon the work of someone who shares the same love of story writing and illustration as I do. I'm sure all of your readers would like to say Thank You again to the patience, love, and hard work you put into this series, and can't wait to see more.
Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Wow, thanks for getting the whole series, lvlcapblue! I'm so glad you liked the story and what it conveys about love and life. Hearing from folks like you makes all the work worthwhile! mark I just recently purchased all four volumes of Miki Falls and found myself unable to put the story down. I just finished reading "Winter" today while on the train.
I'm sorry that it took me so long to get the complete series (you know - life's been hectic and does not always allow for books), but it was a very fun ride.
While the story is the main reason to keep coming back, I found the art just as intriguing as it has always been. Make sure you read the little behind-the-scenes pages at the end of the fourth book - they give some very good insight into the creative process, and how things change while artists create their worlds. I have to admit that I missed in Miki Falls the double-page architectural spreads from Mark's earlier Akiko work, but the more adult characters had more than enough personality to make up for it. I especially liked the way that the characters "matured" in the formative stages from Mark's original concepts.
It's always interesting and enlightening to see an artist and creator progress through a story from concept to finished product. It was especially cool to see it happen with a creator whose work has become so varied and nuanced over such a relatively short period of time.
Glad you enjoyed the Miki Falls series just as much as I did!

Thanks so much, Mayumi, for your positive response to Miki Falls. It really was a great joy to work on, probably the most personal story I've ever done, so it's great to hear when it connects with people (especially a longtime supporter like you!). Thanks again, and I hope 2009 is shaping up to be a wonderful year for you.

I think asking a bookstore to special order or else buying them from an internet bookstore is your best option. Thanks!

I'm tried to do some Miki Falls artwork... I put it to shame T.T so I gave up, It's kinda more realistic than manga... like its way different than Fairy Tail, One Piece and Naruto...
